Legal Internships

Felony Criminal

  • Looking for a 1st or 2nd-year law student who is energetic, self-motivated, and excited to learn. This intern would be interested in criminal prosecution and have an excellent ability to learn, but also have the ability to conduct and prepare factual research. The students should also have strong organizational ability and preferably an Ohio Supreme Court Legal Intern Certificate.
  • Ohio Supreme Court Legal Intern Certificate preferred

Appellate

  • Looking for a 1st or a 2nd-year law student interested in litigation with an emphasis in criminal litigation, the student must have a passion for law and must be an excellent, strong legal writer. Assignments for interns may include searching legislative history to aid attorneys. In addition, students will have a chance to work firsthand with attorneys within the county.

County Courts

  • 2nd or 3rd Year Law students interested in criminal prosecution (Looking for a 2nd or 3rd-year law student who is energetic, self-motivated, and excited to learn. This intern would be interested in criminal prosecution and have an excellent ability to learn, but also have the ability to conduct and prepare factual research. The students should also have strong organizational ability and must have an Ohio Supreme Court Legal Intern Certificate.

Civil Division

  • Looking for a 1st or 2nd-year law student interested in civil practice, including employment, labor, litigation, civil rights, property law, business law, or administrative law. The intern will need to research legal issues that arise in pending cases and be asked to prepare other legal documents. Interns will also get a front-row seat to the process in which an attorney prepares for arguments, trials, and hearings. Interns may also have the opportunity to attend and observe local trials.
  • Also must be a strong legal writer!

Undergraduate Internships

Juvenile

  • Looking for a Junior or Senior undergrad that is dedicated, enthusiastic, and can perform at a high level. This internship will provide students with professional experience and the opportunity to understand how the juvenile court system operates.

Victim Witness

  • Looking for a Junior or Senior undergrad interested in assisting victims of crimes, providing direct emotional support, and written notifications of case events. Preferably a student interested in pursuing a career in counseling, psychology, or sociology with an understanding that they could be dealing with sensitive cases such as sexual assaults and homicides.

Delinquent Tax Division

  • Looking for an undergrad law, accounting, business, real estate, or engineering student that would work with attorneys handling civil cases. The intern will need to research legal issues that arise and may also be asked to prepare other legal documents. Interns will also see how attorneys prepare for arguments, trials, Summer Internship 2022, and hearings.
