YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Daniel Ortiz-Torres, 50, has been sentenced to 10-15 years behind bars for one count of Rape and one count of Gross Sexual Imposition. Ortiz-Torres pleaded guilty to the charges in September of 2025 and was sentenced in November. Ortiz-Torres will be required to register as a tier III sex offender, the highest, most stringent registration, which requires Ortiz-Torres to register every 90 days for the remainder of his life. Judge Anthony Donofrio handed down the sentence. Assistant Prosecutor Daniel Yozwiak successfully prosecuted the case.
In 2022, Ortiz-Torres was arrested and charged with the Rape of a victim in Youngstown. Police arrested Torres following a complaint from the victim’s parent, who found information about the Rape in a personal journal. The victim stated that Ortiz-Torres took advantage of them for several years before he was arrested.
