Full-Time Employment Options

If you are interested in submitting an application, please follow the process below:

  1. Download and fill out the Employment Application below.
  2. Email this form, a cover letter, your resume, and a writing sample (if applying for an Attorney Position) to prosecutor@mahoningcountyoh.gov. Please provide your full legal name and the position you are applying for in the subject line and leave your contact information in the message. We will keep your application on file for five years.
  3. We will review your application and if there is a position available, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with the hiring committee.
  4. Following the interview, we will determine whether to provide you with a full employment application that must be thoroughly completed. Our Professional Standards will then complete a full background investigation. Reasons for disqualification include, but are not limited to:
    • Prior convictions
    • History of drug use/abuse
    • Failure to provide truthful information on the employment application or during the interview process
    • Connection to gangs and/or terrorist organizations

    It should be noted that individuals may be subject to a drug test and full psychological evaluation; additionally, social media profiles will be reviewed.

Internships

Internships are available for undergraduate college students, graduate college students, and law students.
Undergraduate and Graduate Internships

Undergraduate/Graduate internships are offered periodically based on staffing. 

There are three internship opportunities at the Prosecutor’s Office (1) County Court Intern, (2) Juvenile Division Intern, and (3) Communications/Outreach Intern. 

Once the application window opens, the application portal will be available on this webpage. Applicants are required to submit a resume and Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office application through the application portal.  

 

Legal Internships

Legal internships are available for currently enrolled law students. Interviewing takes place in December and internships begin the following summer. Legal interns for 2024 have been selected.

Applications for the Summer of 2025 will open on October 1st of 2024.
