Boardman Man Sentenced in Rape Case involving Children under 10

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Kyle Wilkinson, 31, was convicted of one count of Rape, one count of Gross Sexual Imposition, and one count of Public Indecency. Wilkinson was sentenced to 16 to 21 ½ years in prison and 5 years post-release control. Wilkinson will also be required to register as a Tier III sex offender, the highest, most stringent registration level, which requires Wilkinson to register every 90 days for the remainder of his life. Assistant Prosecutor Caitlyn Andrews successfully prosecuted the case.

Wilkinson was arrested following an investigation after he was accused of exposing himself to two young children at his Boardman home in 2024. One of the children further disclosed that Wilkinson sexually abused him. The victims came forward soon after the incident occurred. Wilkinson admitted to the wrongdoing and entered a guilty plea. He was sentenced by Judge Anthony D’Apolito.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro thanks the Boardman Police Department and Assistant Prosecutor Caitlyn Andrews for their hard work in ensuring this case was prosecuted successfully.
