YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A Mahoning County jury has found Thomas Steele, 50, guilty on all counts following a three-day trial in Judge John Durkin’s courtroom. Steele was found guilty of three counts of Gross Sexual Imposition and one count of Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutors Melissa Dinsio and Daniel Yozwiak.
The charges stem from an incident reported in July 2023, when a juvenile told a parent about inappropriate conduct that had occurred several years earlier. Steele inappropriately touched the victim and showed them pornographic videos. After the victim came forward, the incident was reported to the Campbell Police Department, which conducted an investigation that ultimately led to Steele’s arrest and indictment.
Steele will be sentenced at a later date.
Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro credited the work of the Campbell Police Department and the efforts of Assistant Prosecutors Melissa Dinsio and Daniel Yozwiak in bringing the case forward and securing the successful prosecution.
