Domestic Violence Awareness Drive

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and each October the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office hosts an annual Donation Drive for local domestic violence shelters.  The Donation Drive has been coordinated over the years by students at South Range High School, who have worked to spread the drive to other schools in Mahoning County.
The Donation Drive is based on a “wish list” of items identified by the Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program. Sojourner House, a program of COMPASS Community and Family Services, provides shelter and other essential services to victims of domestic violence across Mahoning County.

Each year, schools across Mahoning County come together to collect supplies and raise awareness for the Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program.

For 2024, the participating districts are South Range, Cardinal Mooney, Poland, Canfield, and Poland.

Donations can also be dropped off in the lobby of the Mahoning County Administration Building, located at 21 W. Boardman Street, Youngstown, OH 44503.

Any other schools or local organizations who wish to participate can contact Isabella Caruso-Harris
