The Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities – MCBDD hosted the 10th annual Veterans of the Valley Luncheon this afternoon.
The lunch is always a special event that showcases some of the bravest and most wonderful veterans in the Mahoning Valley.
The event showcased several different community leaders, local representatives, veterans, and families representing deceased veterans.
Prosecutor DeGenova presented each veteran or their family with a certificate of appreciation, reading: “We pay special tribute to you for your military service to America and for advancing the universal hope of freedom and liberty for all.”
Recognized veterans include:
Military Police Sergeant, U.S. Army, William C. Barnes
1st Lieutenant, U.S. Army, Ila G. Cochran
Pharmacist Mate 2nd Class, U.S. Navy, Michael C. Ferraro
U.S. Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force 91st Bombardment Group, Donald Freer
2nd Lieutenant, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Ruth Wallace Ketzel
