Austintown man Convicted for the Rape of 11-year-old

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – Ke’monie Colpetro was convicted of Rape on Wednesday. Assistant Prosecutor Caitlyn Andrews successfully negotiated the resolution of the case. Colpetro was arrested and charged with Rape and Gross Sexual Imposition and entered guilty pleas to Rape and Gross Sexual Imposition. Judge Maureen Sweeney imposed a sentence of 12– 15½ years in prison. Colpetro will also have to register as a Tier III sex offender, which requires registration every 90 days for the rest of his life. In 2023, Colpetro sexually assaulted an 11-year-old at an apartment in Austintown.

The abuse occurred over the course of a year. Colpetro would wait until residents in the apartment were asleep to take advantage of the victim. Colpetro also gave his victim an STD. This information helped investigators connect the abuse to the defendant, as he was being treated for an STD.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro credits and thanks the Austintown Police Department for their hard work with this case and helping convict Colpetro of Rape.
