YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – A Youngstown man originally indicted on multiple serious charges, including Aggravated Murder, received a significantly reduced Manslaughter charge due to an offer made by the prior Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office administration.
Johnnie McCall, 35, was initially charged with one count of Aggravated Murder, two counts of Murder, one count of Felonious Assault, one count of Having Weapons Under Disability, and one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon. These charges stem from the December 12, 2021, shooting of Calvin Moore outside a bar on Midlothian Boulevard. Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro emphasized the offer to amend the charges could not be changed simply because of a change in administration.
The Prosecutor’s Office remains committed to holding violent offenders accountable. “The Prosecutor’s Office is committed to being tough on crime and ensuring justice is served for victims and their families,” said Prosecutor Maro.
