Austintown man sentenced for hit-and-run death

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – James Stehura, 50, was sentenced to six years in prison for the hit-and-run death of Linda Adams. Stehura fled from the scene of the accident; investigators tracked the truck used in the hit-and-run to Mineral Ridge and traced it back to Stehura.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Anthony Donofrio handed down the sentence following Stehura’s conviction on multiple charges, including Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and Failure to Stop After an Accident; both are third-degree felonies. Stehura entered his guilty plea on February 24th. The judge also suspended Stehura’s license for 7 years. Assistant Prosecutor Kyle Hilles and former Assistant Prosecutor Martin Hume negotiated the resolution of the case.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro commends the Austintown Police Department, Assistant Prosecutor Kyle Hilles, and former Assistant Prosecutor Martin Hume for their work on this case.
