Youngstown, OH — Ethan Richmond, 19, was sentenced to 11 to 15 years in prison following his conviction of Voluntary Manslaughter, Felonious Assault, and a Firearm Specification. Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Maureen Sweeney handed down the sentence Tuesday morning. In March, Richmond entered guilty pleas to the charges for which he was indicted: Voluntary Manslaughter, Felonious Assault and a Firearm Specification. This plea agreement was negotiated under the prior administration. By law the current Prosecutor’s Office was required to honor the previous agreement. This case stems from the September 2023 shooting at Compass West Apartments in Austintown that left 22-year-old Vincent Tarver dead and another person wounded. Assistant Prosecutor Robert Andrews prosecuted this case.
