Mahoning County court judge finds man guilty for protection order violation

David Heberling was convicted of two counts of violating a Protection Order following a bench trial heard by Mahoning County Boardman Court Judge Joseph M. Houser. Heberling was sentenced to 60 days in the Mahoning County Justice Center, and The Court imposed 2 years of Probation. Assistant Prosecutor Ralph Rivera successfully prosecuted the case. The conviction stems from a protection order issued in 2024. Heberling was ordered not to have contact with the victim, but continued to text and contact the victim. The Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court issued the protection order that Heberling violated.
