Youngstown, (OHIO) – A man from Youngstown will face sentencing after pleading guilty Monday morning in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Jonthony Altreche had been facing trial this July in the shooting death of Ty’Rice Logan outside a liquor establishment on Youngstown’s Southside back in December 2023.

However, in court Monday, Altreche admitted to killing the victim, pleading guilty to one count of Involuntary Manslaughter with an attached firearm specification, one count of Felonious Assault with an attached firearm specification, one count of Illegal Possession of a Firearm in Liquor Permit Premises, one count of Possession of Cocaine and one count of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer. As part of the agreement, attorneys for both sides will be recommending a term of 30 to 35-and-a-half years behind bars when Altreche returns to court at a later date.
