Guilty Verdict for Youngstown Man Who Assaulted Victim

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Marcus Gordon Cobb, 62, has been found guilty of felonious assault following a three-day jury trial before Anthony D’Apolito. The jury returned a guilty verdict on one count of felonious assault, leaving Cobb facing a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison. The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutors Katherine Jones and Kristie Weibling.

The charges stemmed from an incident on Tampa Avenue, where the Youngstown Police Department responded to a reported fight and found that Cobb had struck the victim in the head with a metal pipe during the altercation. The victim was treated for injuries sustained in the attack, and Cobb was taken into custody at the scene.

Cobb will be sentenced at a later date.
