YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – James Sladewski, 44, and Samuel Shipton, 41, were each found guilty of one count of Felonious Assault following a bench trial held before visiting Judge Wyatt McKay. Judge McKay ruled that the two were guilty after two days of testimony. Assistant Prosecutors John L. Fleet III and Daniel Yozwiak successfully prosecuted the case.
Sladewski and Shipton will be sentenced at a later date.
In 2023, the two men beat the victim at a Poland home where they called police claiming the victim overdosed. Following the conclusion of the investigation, Sladewski and Shipton were both indicted on Felonious Assault charges.
