The Mahoning County Prosecutor Gina DeGenova is excited to host county-wide Self-Defense classes. Through collaboration with Mercy Health, COMPASS Family and Community Services, the course was designed to teach residents essential self-defense in a safe environment. The trainings are taught by Mercy Health Chief of Police, Ryan Bonacci.
The training involves three components: (1) education on local laws & local victim services (2) awareness and confidence building & (3) a physical training component. The goal of this course is to increase the confidence of trainees to utilize the skills learned in training in response to any potential conflicts or violent incidents. At this time, STOP is not available to minors.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Boardman Township STOP Course scheduled for May 8th, 2024 at 6:30PM is canceled.
