Jury Finds Man Guilty for Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (FRIDAY, FEB 2, 2024) – A Mahoning County jury finds 28-year-old Davelle Heath guilty of Attempted Murder and Felonious Assault. Heath was found guilty of the following crimes:

  • Attempted Murder (Felony of the First Degree)
    Three-Year Firearm Specification
  • Felonious Assault (Felony of the Second Degree)
    Three-Year Firearm Specification

In March of 2022, Heath shot a woman in the head on S. Truesdale Avenue. When police arrived, they said that the victim wrote down the name of the shooter, which led to an investigation and an arrest. The victim was transported to the hospital, where she again wrote Heath’s name for detectives because her injuries left her unable to speak. Soon after the shooting, Heath was arrested by U.S. Customs Agents at the Atlanta airport while attempting to board a flight to London, England. Heath’s sentencing will be scheduled for a later date.
